Many hands make light work. To be truly sustainable, we need to look beyond our own four walls and work hand-in-hand with our growers and suppliers. We’ve already made sure all of the card and paper in our packaging comes from Forest Stewardship Council certified (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified sources, and that zero waste went to landfill from factories in 2020 and 2021. We’re also introducing an Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) scorecard for all our suppliers, covering a range of important topics from water scarcity to safety measures, which we’ll provide annual scorecards for our suppliers. At the same time, we’re pushing for even greater transparency and partnership when it comes to working conditions – first for our own direct suppliers, but eventually for their suppliers and their suppliers. It’s a long and complex journey, but we’re determined to see it through. Working more closely with our partners is the first step.
